FAQs

What is a community interest company (CIC)?

CICs are designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good.  A CIC company must pass a community interest test to ensure they are working for the benefit of the community. This is achieved by a "community interest test" and "asset lock", which ensure that the CIC is established for community purposes and the assets and profits are dedicated to these purposes. All of Bounce's finances are invested in sustaining or creating participatory projects in the areas we operate in.

Where are we based?

We have an office in Kingston but work across London and as far as the Midlands. Our work is created by, with and for people who are interested in creative and artistic processes. We do not have a theatre space, as we don't feel we need one at the moment!

I would like to appy for a job with Bounce Theatre, what should I do?

We recruit throughout the year. All vacancies are advertised via our news section or via Arts Jobs.

Do we offer work experience?

We don't offer formal work experience opportunities. There are sometimes volunteering opportunities on our projects. Please contact us for more information.

I have a group or community that I would like to create a workshop for. What should I do?

Over the past few years we have delivered work for hospices, schools, estates and museums. Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to discuss your particular requirements.

How much does a Bounce workshop cost?

Our projects are quoted for on an individual basis. This is to allow for greater flexibility to work in line with budgets, times and needs. We aim to ensure the work is as cost effective as possible, particularly for longer projects and regular work with schools.

Why are some of your youth theatre groups not called Bounce?

When we started the company, we were keen to make theatre in spaces relevant to people. For us, part of that comes also through your groups name and therefore we named them accordingly.
