Teachers

We are always keen to collaborate with teachers and teaching assistants to share ideas about the use of theatre in a classroom scenario. Opportunities include:

INSETS

Our INSET combine practical activities with discussion on the practical application of using drama in the classroom. All of our INSETs are accompanied with a range of resources from posters, to postcards to on-line resources that allow teachers to apply the work in a classroom scenario. Topics covered include:

DRAMA IN THE CLASSROOM

Here we look at the practical possibilities of using drama to enrich classroom based teaching. Teachers are introduced to possible games and activities that can be done without needing to move furniture or generate a performance.

PUPPETRY

Teachers will receive practical exercises to guide their class in the art of making puppets. This will be followed by exploration on the application of puppetry in DT, Literacy and PSHE.

CREATIVE APPROACHES

This INSET is an excellent opportunity to develop a whole school approach to the emotional+social aspects that may affect children's learning. Topics that may be covered include SEN, behaviour management or positive inclusion of EAL students.

USING DRAMA FOR CREATIVE WRITING

Teachers the opportunity to experience how a structured drama workshop can produce enriched creative writing in the classroom.
