Following our first workshop for our forthcoming Unusual Spaces project, we had the following ideas.
What makes a theatre performance happen
An audience
A space - the same story performed in a museum and then again in M+S felt very different
Less is more
Submerged meanings
Subtle
Respect for the space in a non naturalistic setting
An awareness from other people
Drama
People's reaction
Knowing it's not real, but it feels real
Mood
Good dialogue
Wordlessness
Finding connections
A relationship between the space and the story
Enjoyment
Not trying to hard
I really enjoyed Bounce's production of Tender: the characters were all so real and the series of tangled encounters built up the tension so much for me I cried at the end.
