Beauty and the Beast for schools

11 Jul 2011

Bounce Theatre is delighted to announce a touring show for schools, of Beauty and the Beast this Autumn.

Stripped back and bare, this production retains all the magic of the fairytale through a rich blend of storytelling, dialogue, music and dance. Director Louise Pendry says "Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite tales. For this show, we've been inspired by ballet, puppetry and physical story telling to create a simple, yet stunning production to light up any school hall!"

Accompanying the production is an opportunity for children to have a workshop with the actors. This allows schools the flexibility to allow the whole school to see the performance, followed by workshops with up to five classes. Alternatively, schools can have two shows in a morning.

The production is accompanied by a resource pack, which contains a copy of the script, information about devising with children and ideas for teaching around the show.

The production is available from November 2011. For full details and more information please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 02084081124.

I really enjoyed Bounce's production of Tender: the characters were all so real and the series of tangled encounters built up the tension so much for me I cried at the end.
