Book Week Visits for Schools

21 Nov 2010

Bounce Theatre is delighted to announce a new set of workshops for book weeks.

Building on their relationships with new writers, the company are delighted to offer the schools an opportunity to book a writer, drama practitioner, poet or visual artist or combination for book week!

Producer Kirsten Hutton explains "We undertake a lot of multi-arts work for our participatory projects and we'd like to pass the opportunity for this style of work onto schools. From 2011, schools can book writers, theatremakers and visual artists to bounce into their schools over book week. The multi-arts approach can broaden creative teaching for different learning styles and culminate in an array of possibilities been produced over the week."

Director Louise Pendry goes on to explain "This way of working gives schools complete flexibility over both the content and budget of their book weeks. The multi-arts approach offers an array of possibilities to build a week long project that can involve poetry, script or story telling session. Children can produce their own book or make a play - the possibilities are endless."

All the children were able to engage with the workshops at their own level and some fantastic stories have been written since!
