Bounce into book day

01 Feb 2012

As Book Day draws near, Bounce Theatre are delighted to celebrate with a series of special workshops.

The Company have been working with Creative Associates Rupert Stratton and Andrew Demetrius, the pair are publishing their second book together Charlie and the Dragon . Set in Grandma's ginormous garden, Charlie kicks his football into the corner where the trees hang low and the plants are spiky. He sets off on a quest to rescue it and comes face to face with a dragon.

Director of Bounce, Louise Pendry says "Charlie and the Dragon is a great book. It has scope to explore quests and adventures. Equally, you can use it to explore anything from habitats to what it means to be courageous. There is even a link to St George!"

Bounce are offering workshops around the book to commemorate the launch. There is an opportunity for schools to buy discount copies of the book, along with a free resource pack from Bounce Theatre to use it in teaching.

Workshops range from a page to stage transformation of the story to building puppets and mounting a performance.
