Bounce Theatre is delighted to launch it's new season Connecting to Place. This is a six month exploration of how stories, drama and theatre help us to understand the importance of places, what they mean to us and how we use them.
With a host of opportunities for schools, community groups and individuals to participate, Connecting to Place promises to produce some of the most exciting work yet from this young company. The season includes a production of Romeo and Juliet, by the newly formed Bounce THEATRELAB. This group is a mix of 16-19 year olds, who are working with Bounce as an ensemble group to discover ways of making and producing theatre. Other work includes Magnificent Me, a project for 5-8 year olds, inspired by Rupert Stratton's Magnificent Octopus. This is a project for schools which will see children can create their own magnificent character through a workshop. Schools have the added bonus of sumbitting the work to Bounce to form an evening of Magnificent Us readings by the company, every participating school will get free tickets! Further work includes a family learning project, Creative Homes, youth theatre work, more schools projects and more!
Artistic Director Louise Pendry responsible for the programme says "It's our favourite season yet. We're excited about the work and urge everyone to come and join in with us!'
