Countdown to Christmas

02 Dec 2010

Bounce is excited to be counting down to Christmas with two celebratory events.

On the 11th December, Bounce will be joined by a whole other host of artists and groups to perform at All Saints Church. The Big Christmas Celebration features performances from Bounce, StageHitters - Kingston Keeps Performing Arts Group, Future Friends, Richard Eve, Alice Thurling and contributions from Rythmn and Muse. It promises to be an evening of variety, with stories, song, music and poetry that will get the toes tingling with the warmth of Christmas!

Futhermore, all profit from the evening will be donated to charity - both local and international. Profits will be split between Kingston Women's Refuge, who will use it to enrich the children's experience over the festive season. The remainder will be sent to the IDAI Orphange in Boliva. The orphanage cares for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, resources are so limited that often the basics such as nappies are a struggle, so every penny will help.

Following on a week later, Bounce's newest youth theatre StreetCombo will perform Grimm Tales at the Paul Robeson Theatre in Hounslow. Formed by Bounce as part of an Arts Council Be Creative Be Well commission, 23 young people from the Beavers and Meadows estates will mount a production guaranteed to fill the audience with a Christmas warmth in this imaginative and magical reinterpretation of traditional tales. All money raised from the production will help fund StreetCombo's future post the end of the current funding.
