THEATRE LAB is looking for 16-19 year olds with an inquisitive mind, an over active imagination and a desire to learn more about theatre.
THEATRELAB is a chance for 16-19s across Hounslow, Kingston and Richmond to work with the innovative company Bounce Theatre to explore performance, develop and devise new work, take risks and try out ideas. Along with visiting theatre festivals, accessing specialist workshops and mounting regular productions across South West London.
The LAB opens in March 2009 and the company are offering a taster workshop to anyone that is interested in joining on February 24th at KingstonCollege.
Producer Kirsten Hutton explains “Theatrelab is a unique opportunity. Participants will get to not only perform, but also learn about producing small scale fringe theatre. This will provide them with a range of skills to use in the future, whether it is theatre work or in job applications”
The LAB will begin by developing their own production of Romeo and Juliet, supported by company Artistic Director Louise Pendry. Louise says “I can’t wait to start the LAB! Romeo and Juliet was the first play I directed when I was doing my A’levels! The ethos of the LAB is fantastic in that it will give young people to work as a fringe company.’

Bounce Theatre provides opportunities for people to join in, be creative and learn through drama. Established in 2006 the company has had an outstanding two years working with schools in Kingston, Richmond and Hounslow boroughs, along with regular outreach and production work.
