Creative Projects for Schools

28 Dec 2011

Bounce is delighted to launch a series of new projects for schools in 2012.

Expanding on the companies current offering, the projects provide a new range of ways for schools to work with artists. Starting with an Artist in Residence project, which can play drama and dance practitioners, along with writers into schools. Director Louise Pendry explains 'The project is a relatively flexible approach to creative delivery. Artists can work with participants for a short space of time, or visit the school during calendar events. The advantage being that the artists already have a relationships with the the students, so each project can become a little more creative and adventurous. It will also offer schools a more economical way of working with artists over a year."

Furthermore, Bounce is offering more specific projects, such as the Cultural Olympiad . Louise explains "This is an opportunity for schools to build their own mini-cultural Olympiad for the end of the year, to mark the forthcoming Olympics. This can be a multi-arts project and compliment other areas of the curriculum such as geography and Global Citizenship. Or, schools can opt to work with dance practitioners to participate in initiatives such as Big Dance.
