Bounce Theatre is delighted to launch a Creative Writing Network for writers, artists and educational practitioners.
The Network will officially launch in September 2009, as part of Bounce's new season Something Something: A season of possibility. It will provide an opportunity for emerging children's writers, arts and education practitioners to meet, share ideas + resources to learn from each other in order to increase the provision for engaging children in creative writing.
The idea for the Network sprung from a discussion between the two directors of Bounce, following a series of projects the company has undertaken using new writers work. Artistic Director, Louise Pendry explains "Bounce runs a diverse range of projects with writers, children and young people, parents and teachers. A large part of why we work with schools is to enrich creative writing amongst children, the writers we work with want to offer new ideas to children and the parents we work with want to improve their child's literacy skills. The chance to bring these groups together is an exciting opportunity to develop new ideas and methodology to enrich all the participants experiences."
Teachers can join the network for free. They will receive invites to practical forums with the company, e-newletters sharing ideas and resources to generate writing, discounts on Bounce workshops and reduced ticket rates for the company shows.
New writers and artists in education are also welcome to join the network. They will receive invites to forums with the company, mentoring from Bounce Theatre and opportunities to have their work performed as the network grows.
