New: Drama Workshops + more for Schools

08 Jan 2011

Bounce is delighted to launch a new programme of work for schools.

From 2011, the company is offering a broad range of opportunities for schools to choose how they work with Bounce. From one off workshops through to residencies to community projects, schools will be able to work in partnership with Bounce to deliver imaginative and bespoke experiences for their pupils.

Producer, Kirsten Hutton explains "Our intention is to offer schools a completely bespoke service, which incorporates everything from the length of the workshop, to the content to whether they want a resource pack or not. This will ensure our provision can fully match their requirements and give greater control over how budgets are spent. Moreover, the new programme allows for some really exciting projects to be creative by working in partnership together."

Last year Bounce provided workshops for over 2000 children and young people. "Our work ranged from introducing foundation children to drama, to supporting School Action plans with community cohesion projects, to residencies to devise site specific performance." says Director, Louise Pendry. She goes on to say "The breadth of our experience as a team has led us to redesign our Creative Learning offering to provide more choice, particularly as more schools adopt a bespoke, creative curriculum. We do retain a portfolio of "off the shelf" workshops, that can be used as a starting point by any school for one off workshops or longer term projects."

Kirsten adds "There are an exciting array of opportunities, to create everything from literacy projects to creative residencies - perfect for calendar events. Working with visual designers and musicians, it also means we're in the position to offer multi-arts approaches to all of our work."

I really enjoyed Bounce's production of Tender: the characters were all so real and the series of tangled encounters built up the tension so much for me I cried at the end.
