Theatre Opportunities for 16-21 year olds.

03 Oct 2010

Bounce is searching for 16-21 year olds with a real passion for performance.

The Company are looking for 16-21 year olds to join their Christmas Carol project. In particular we are interested to find actor/dancers, actor/singers and actor/musicians. They are also like to have people that would like to become puppeteers/object manipulators.

The Christmas Carol is adapted by Neil Bartlett and was first performed at the Lyric Hammersmith. Bounce are bringing it into a non-traditional performance space, providing an opportunity to play to up to 400 people. Director Louise Pendry says "We're looking for people you aren't afraid to be fearless + through themselves into a high energy, physical performance. The group will have an opportunity to gain mentoring from people working in the arts + advice on how to obtain funding / set up as a company / freelance professional and more alongside the creative opportunities. However, in the spirit of Christmas we are going to be donating any profit from the production to a local women's refuge."

Louise goes on to explain "There is a cost to participate in the project, but we have averaged this out to be about £3/session." Rehearsals will take place in Kingston and the production will be performed between the 9th-11th December - including one night when it takes to the streets!

You were great and I really enjoyed the show. It looked great, just the variety of women all looking fabulous was very empowering, even before the first word was said. The Director picked the right voices for each of the monologues - you have to admit your monologue suited your vowels and demeanour.
