Bounce Theatre is delighted to announce it's next production of Wuthering Heights.
Performed in April for just three nights at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre, the famous novel will play out on the stage with just five actors.
Adapted by Jane Thornton, this stark adaptation has been parred down even further by the company. Director Louise Pendry says "I fell in love with the idea of the adaptation as soon as I read about it, even more so when I read the script. However, I felt that I wanted to go one step further to highlight how Thornton cleverly switches between narration and dialogue to tell the story by removing all staging bar the chairs, so everything really has to come from the actors.
The cast of young actors have been selected following work they produced in THEATRELAB, Bounce's ensemble for 16 and over. Cast member Camiel Chaudray says "Wuthering Heights was always going to a challenge, it's a dark drama. Playing multiple parts in a play that travels through generations will rely solely on the actors to make it convincing. It's an exciting challenge for me and I am looking forward to starting rehearsals."
