"How many soldiers passed through the archway of the Keep in those 77 years is impossible to estimate…"
About the project
Keep sakes is a creative heritage project celebrating Kingston Keep. The Keep is a heritage listed building, retained after the Barracks was closed and the land sold in the 1960s. Keep Sakes recognises its history, heritage through research and oral histories. Military families from across the commonwealth and local children in Kingston are contributing to transforming the Army Welfare room with a wall size art work telling the tale of Kingston Keep. Accompanying this is Grace on the Case a heritage cartoon book and performance for local schools.
How to get involved.
Resources from Keep Sakes will soon be available on our website.
The project has been made possible thanks to funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund.
