Our Work With Schools

We work in schools as enquiry-led theatre makers.
We begin with a question, idea or theme and develop creative work with pupils through collaboration and shared making.
We are interested in how pupils think, respond and create together. The work develops through discussion, movement, writing, performance and visual exploration.
The process is structured but open-ended. The outcome is not pre-defined.
We make theatre with schools, not for them.
How We Understand Learning
Our work is informed by contemporary thinking around creative learning, communication and participation.
We understand learning as an active process that happens through doing. Attention, movement, communication and reflection are part of how ideas develop, not separate from them.
We are interested in how different ways of experiencing the world shape how young people learn, express themselves and work together.
What This Develops in Pupils
Across projects, we see pupils developing:
-
confidence in sharing ideas
-
collaborative thinking and group work
-
communication across different forms
-
creative risk-taking
-
ownership of their thinking and making
What This Looks Like in Practice
In one school, we are working with a group of autistic girls using visual art and poetry to explore emotional wellbeing, language and communication.
In an alternative education setting, we are devising work around radical joy, exploring what it means, how it feels, and how it can be expressed through movement, voice and performance.
In other contexts, pupils build performances from shared stories, create visual worlds through design, or develop work through movement and sound.
Each project is different. The process is consistent: we begin with a question and build the work together.
Why Schools Work With Us
We help pupils think, respond and create together.
We support:
-
enquiry-led learning
-
collaborative practice
-
communication in multiple forms
-
confidence and expressive development
We begin with difference. It is part of how the work is made, not something to work around.
