Bounce Theatre is delighted to be participating in the Wandsworth Primary Showcase as part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe.
We have had the joy of working with a group of children from Beatrix Potter School to devise Maisie’s Dream. The group responded to the festival theme ‘Wandsworth and the World’ to think about their own ambition that Wandsworth could contribute to tackling the climate change emergency. Maisie’s Dream is a mashup of Alice in Wonderland and their own climate change concerns. Its overarching message is to listen to the voices of children.
They will be part of an event on Wednesday 19th June 2024. Primary schools from across Wandsworth come together at the Civic Suite in Wandsworth Town Hall for a truly spectacular and creative WAF Schools Showcase – with theatre, visual arts, spoken word and dance, come and marvel at Wandsworth’s abundance of young talent!
The event is engaging with primary schools across the borough – some of whom will be performing in the event and some who have taken part in projects in school. The work from these projects will be exhibited/screened at the event and in exhibitions during the festival. This year’s theme is ‘Wandsworth and the World’ - celebrating local areas and their wider cultural connections.
Participating Schools: Beatrix Potter Primary School, Brandlehow Primary School, Goldfinch Primary School, Sacred Heart RC Primary School (Battersea), Smallwood Primary School, S0.t Joseph's RC Primary School, Trinity St. Mary’s Primary School, West Hill Primary School.
Schools have worked with local creative partners: Apples & Snakes, Bounce Theatre, Chocolate Films, Group 64 Theatre for Young People, London Children's Ballet & Royal College of Art.Â
