Bounce is excited to launch the first instalment of The Mini Museum of Food at the Home Café, Earlsfield.
Over the summer, work from Beatrix Potter Primary School is on exhibition at the café. The school has participated in the project over the last term, with Year 3 visiting Paradise Cooperative to look at foraging and plant based ingredients for pickling workshops. They have taken part in pickling and paelo bar workshops with the Home Cafe and art workshops with Bounce Theatre.
All of Year 3 also collected and wrote up a family recipe. These are now on exhibition at the café. The collection comprises drinks, snacks, dinners, and desserts. Recipes come from Pakistan, Ukraine, Scotland, and Jamaica amongst others.

The project is part of Beyond the Plate, our Heritage Lottery Funded project with the Home Café. Together, we are exploring the origins of plant-based cooking since WW2 and the diversification of our food heritage as our communities become more diverse and unique.
As the project progresses, each group's work will be catalogued and archived into a recipe collection to be housed at the café at the end of the project. The completed museum will launch in October to mark eight years of the Home Café.
